As a hetrosexual mom, I was delighted to watch your family being created. I believe that love and families come in many different forms. People who don't believe that only need to watch the film and realize how much we are all alike rather than focusing on our differences. Bless you family and best wishes for your future.

My partner and I have just finished watching Making Grace. We found it inspiring, we are at present having our third cycle of treatment with annonymous donor sperm. We have to travel to Denmark for treatment as the laws in the UK mean that there is a shortage of donor sperm & no annonymous donors are possible. This would mean waiting up to three years on a waiting list & anyone who is lesbian and wanting a baby, knows that this isn't an option.
We definately related to the stresses & strains that trying to conceive a baby in this way produces. We had our last treatment last week so we are in the in-between stage where we are trying to keep busy so that it doesn't take over our lives (ha ha)! I loved how honest Anne and Lesley were and they made us feel that we are not alone. The best part of all was seeing the results of all of that love and effort in those two beautiful children. We hope there will be a follow on dvd as we would love to see how the children have progressed.
We send all our best wishes from England, from our family to yours.

Your approach of letting the action unfold and tell the story effects a very candid and compelling documentary..... glad we were able to come when you and Anne and Leslie and Grace were present......seeing you all together was very moving.....the gratification is lovely to see...need more of it in this world!!!
The people that need to see this loving portrait are the least likely to have a cinema in their neighborhood showing it..........as your film touches on the change of view within each family but its just a great touch that it is presented so objectively....we just don't get why those people have so much fear and hatred.......
Congratulations.

The movie was terrific! Loved it. You have such a great way with people that they just feel comfortable with you and really open up. By the end of the movie, I felt like I knew them. I was so excited to see Grace, because I got so caught up in their birthing story. You are so talented and I was so happy to see a good film. They are far and few between. My friends all enjoyed it as well. I'm getting their thank you's on my email. Just moved us all, but in different ways. Lots to discuss with this movie. Three of us were standing on the street corner yesterday for an extra half hour discussing certain issues the movie brought up for us.
Now, here's a question that was raised: are the donors told when a child is actually born from their donation? are they aware of how many kids they have out there? and can they, the donor's find out, if they want to about if they have a kid out there before 18? how much money do they get? is that the only reason a donor would donate sperm... for money?
See how many questions we all came up with. Your movie really got us thinking.
Again thanks for enlightening and fun evening.

Just wanted to say the film really is international. My wife and I saw it in New York last week and as we are trying to start a family ourselves in our country (Holland) it gave us a lot of insight.

I just wanted to let you know that my partner and I saw this movie at the Boston Film Festival at the MFA. It brought back a lot of memories of us just starting out and trying to get pregnant. Humorous and heartfelt at the same time.
Great job!!
